M-PESA Administration Manager Job: Safaricom Limited

We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the M-PESA Department. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below:

M-PESA Administration Manager

REF: NP - MAM – MAY09

Reporting to the Senior Manager M-PESA, the M-PESA Administration Manager will be responsible for supporting the M-PESA Agent channel by proving supervision in handling agent issues related to dealer recruitment, float management, commission payments & Agent availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative supervision in recruiting all Safaricom dealers / Non dealers as standard M-PESA Agents;
  • Ensure prompt & efficient set up of acquired/new M-PESA agents and Businesses;
  • Ensure prompt and efficient set up of acquired new businesses onto functionality platforms namely pay bill, bulk payments, super agency e.t.c;
  • Identify any gaps in agent coverage;
  • General administrative support for the Agent/ Business channel and attend to escalations;
  • Facilitate preparation of commission statements;
  • Liaison between Safaricom, M-PESA agents, M-PESA Business and 3rd party suppliers;
  • Provide back-up for M-PESA customer acquisition activities;
  • Facilitate availability of business tools, novelties to enhance agent activities;
  • Monitor e-money and cash float through the system;
  • Attend and prepare correspondence on Agent & Business enquiries;
  • Effective staff management through performance monitoring;
  • Effective sales support for Agencies / Businesses;
  • Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly analytic transaction and customer registration reports for the departments / agents as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree in Sales and Marketing / Business Administration / BCom from a recognized university;
  • 5 – 7 years experience in Sales with at least 2 years in Agent Management / Administration;
  • Hands on work experience with Ms Office suite & Ms Project;
  • Good Planning and Organizational skills;
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills;
  • Team player;
  • Excellent report writing skills.
