Vacancy: Clerical Officer II
(Job Group T)
Ten (10) Posts

Salary Scale: KSHS.10,717 - KSHS. 12,416 p.m.

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for the clerical cadre. The specific duties at this level will include compiling statistical records; sorting, filing and dispatching letters; processing appointments, promotions, discipline, transfer and other related duties in human resource management; computation of financial or statistical records based on routine or special sources of information; preparing payment voucher s; compiling data and drafting simple letters.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of:-

(i) Kenya certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- or its approved equivalent; and

(ii) Proficiency in computer applications

Vacancy: Driver Grade III
(Job Group 'D')

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for the Drivers cadre.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will involve driving a motor vehicle as authorized; carrying out routine checks on the vehicle's cooling, oil, electrical, brake systems, tyre pressure, etc; detecting and reporting malfunctioning of Vehicles systems; maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned; ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off road; safety of passengers and/or goods therein; and maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.

(b) Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the grade of Driver Grade III, a candidate must have:-

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D plain or its equivalent Qualification from a recognized Institution;

(ii) a valid driving licence free from current endorsement (s) for class(es) of vehicle (s) which the candidate is required to drive,

(iii) passed the suitability Test for Drivers Grade III conducted by the Ministry of roads and Public works;

(iv) a valid certificates of good conduct from Kenya Police;

(v) a First Aid certificate from St. John's ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building technology KIHBT) or any other recognized institution

(vi) at least two (2) years driving experience.

Vacancy: Plant Operator III
(Job Group 'D')

Salary Scale: KSHS.8,819 - KSHS.9,721 p.m.

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

(a) Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for Plant Operators. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail operating machines of 'difficult rating' C; assisting machine attendants in identifying possible breakdowns; liaising with mechanics for servicing; making daily and weekly oil checks; and maintaining the cleanliness of the plants.

(b) Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:-

(i) Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade D plain or its equivalent Qualification from a recognized Institution;

(ii) Have a valid driving licence free from current endorsements for class(es) of machine (s) that one may be required to operate;

(iii) Have passed the suitability Test for plant Operators Grade III;

(iv) Have a First Aid certificate from St. John's ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building technology KIHBT) or any other recognized institution

(v) be able to operate at-least two (2) plant of difficult rating' C;

(a) Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level include messengerial duties, general cleanliness and other general duties as may be allocated to the officer by the cleaning supervisor 1.

(b) Requirement for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of:-

(i) Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (plain) or certificate of education (KCE) division IV .

(PC I) (NYS)

Salary Scale: KSHS.10,000 - KSHS.16,000 P.M.

Requirement for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:-
  • Be physically and medically fit
  • Be between the age pf 18 and 28 years
  • Have National Identity Card
  • Have a valid certificate of Good conduct from the CID
  • Be in possession of a KCSE certificate minimum grade D+ or its equivalent
  • Minimum Height: men "55" women "53"
  • Minimum weight: men 54.5 kg (120 pounds) women - 50 kg (110 pounds)
  • Have successfully undergone NYS basic paramilitary training.
In addition,

(i) Be in possession of driving license for plant operators and occupational test certificate for plant operators. OR
  • Have passed the following subjects offered at the Kenya National Examination council Typewriting II (Minimum 40 w.p.m.) office practice I and Business English I for secretaries. OR
  • Have either Government trade Test Grade II and above or craft certificate/Technical III or Diploma certificate in relevant trades of:-
  1. Agriculture
  2. Automotive engineering
  3. Plumbing
  4. Carpentry
  5. Masonry
  • be prepared to undergo six months advanced paramilitary training at NYS college, Gilgil.
