The Mines Awareness Trust (MAT) in partnership with the Humanitarian Peace Support School (HPSS), Nairobi, Kenya are delivering a series of courses covering HMA, demining and EOD training. The training is to International Mine Action Standards (IMAS). The selected candidate will be part of a training team responsible for delivering training to international students at the HPSS (Duty station Nairobi). The candidate will be expected to work unsupervised after receiving work plans/direction, and produce work of a high professional standard.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Report directly to the MAT Country Programme Manager.
Design and Develop instructional specifications (lesson plans).
Assist in the development of training materials.
Manage day to day delivery of instruction.
Conduct testing and data validation.
Write student course reports.
Stand in as Chief Instructor when necessary.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Advanced EOD and IEDD qualification (IMAS EOD level 4 or military equivalent)
Experience as a technical advisor managing field operations within a HMA project/programme
Proven experience of designing and delivering training (Ex EOD school Instructor preferred)
Good knowledge and understanding of IMAS and IMSMA reporting
Computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel as a minimum)
Excellent written and spoken English
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
Knowledge of integrated clearance methodology utilising manual, mechanical and MDD assets
Experience of working within HMA projects in different countries
International driving license.
