Experience: At least two years experience as a web designer in PHP

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Excellent knowledge of PHP, HTML, MySQL.
- Familiar with Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Joomla
- Knowledge of Java scripting
- Experienced using Dreamweaver and Photoshop software
- Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
- Deep understanding of what makes a great online user experience
- Passionate about new interactive digital media.
- Rigorous, autonomous and sociable, at the same time able to work under pressure and able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- An interest in general communications or journalism.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
- Write, troubleshoot, develop and administer online applications.
- Manage MySQL databases.
- Participate in multiple projects and deliver products in a timely manner
- Active participant in a communications team
- Performs other duties as assigned by the head of Intranet and Graphics Design
Terms of Employment:
A six (6) one year renewable contract as per KEMRI scheme of service. Probation period for the first 3 months.
Remuneration: Compensation is negotiable within a relevant grade, based on educational levels, relevant experience and demonstrated competency. The salary scheme is based on the KEMRI scales plus supplemental amounts.
