Job Profile

The officer will be in charge of Inspectorate Services at the zone for purposes of promoting and ensuring compliance with cotton rules and regulations. The officer will be required to co-ordinate all Regulatory functions of the Authority at the zonal level.

Specific duties will entail:-
  • Registration and inspection of products, premises, farms and other cotton facilities.
  • Maintain records of ginners and marketing agents.
  • Facilitating the Setting of Quality standards and ensuring compliance.
  • Implementation and Enforcement of the Cotton General rules and regulations.
  • Advice the authority on matters affecting cotton production as set out in the Act.
Person Profile
  • Served in Agricultural related field for at least five (5) years.
  • A degree in any of the following disciplines:- Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering or any other relevant qualification from a recognized institution. A Masters degree in any of the Agricultural related disciplines will be an added advantage.
  • Have demonstrated team work and good communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated high degree of professionalism, merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Marketing Officer

Job Profile

The officer will head the Marketing Division; the officer will be required to co-ordinate all marketing functions of the Authority.

Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:-
  • Facilitating development and implementation of marketing systems.
  • Collection, maintenance, collate, disseminate and advise on pricing and market information.
  • Coordinate lobbying for better market conditions and opportunities for Kenya Cotton and products.
  • Establish linkages with local and international agencies on market and trade information.
  • Liaise with Kenyan Missions on cotton trade.
  • Capacity building for stakeholders on marketing and trade related issues.
  • Advice the Authority on global cotton markets, trends and opportunities.
Person Profile
  • Served in Agricultural field for ten (10) years of which three (3) should be in a senior level.
  • A degree in Agriculture related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • A Masters degree in Agriculture related discipline.
  • A Masters degree in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Project Development and Management, Sustainable Rural Development will be an advantage.
  • A Management Course lasting not less than three (3) weeks shall be an added advantage.

The officer will be responsible for promoting cotton industry in the region.

Specific duties and responsibilities will entail:-
  • Provide effective management and administration of all the resources and activities in the region.
  • Co-ordinate all issues related to cotton development in the region.
  • Implement strategies to improve production, processing and marketing systems for cotton enterprises in the region.
  • Prepare annual work plans and budgets, periodical and situational reports.
  • Liaise with other agencies in the region to promote cotton development.

Duties and responsibilities will entail:-
  • Organizing trainings on cotton production.
  • Promoting dissemination of agronomic technology.
  • Liaise with key partners and relevant stakeholders and agencies involved in cotton production and research.
  • Implementation of strategies to support increased production, research and technology transfer.
  • Capacity build of farmer associations.
  • Promotion of production and distribution of planting seeds and other inputs.
  • Liaise with seed bulking and multiplication bodies, KEPHIS, KARI, etc.

  • Setting standards for cotton and its products in collaboration with other standardization bodies.
  • Establish "Kenyan Brand" for Kenyan Cotton.
  • Facilitate development and adoption of appropriate processing technologies to improve competitiveness of cotton products.
  • Development of strategies to support efficient processing, research and technology transfer.
  • Liaise with relevant agencies and institutions in development of quality standards and systems for cotton products.

Senior Accountant

Job Profile
  • Advice on all the financial accounting and management issues.
  • Management of accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Management of taxes to ensure compliance with the Kenya Revenue Authority requirements.

Legal Officer

The senior legal officer will be responsible to the Chief Executive for all legal issues pertaining to operations of the Authority.

Specific duties will entail:-
  • Secretary to the Board.
  • Supervision and coordination of the work of legal division.
  • Identifying policy research areas and developing policy.
  • Representing the Authority in legal fora.
  • Representing the Authority in court.
  • Making presentation of relevant issues to the Board.
Person Profile
  • A Bachelor's of Laws degree from a recognized university;
  • A diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
  • A Masters degree in law or CPS (K), its equivalent from a recognized university will be an added advantage.
  • A certificate of admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
  • Computer skills.
  • At least five (5) experience from a reputable organization.
  • Demonstrated management experience and professional competence in work performance and results.
Internal Auditor

The Chief Internal Auditor will be responsible to the Board for managing the internal control systems of the Authority.

Specific duties will entail:-
  • Reviewing the effectiveness of the internal control systems and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate duties and responsibilities of the systems auditor.
  • Verifying accounting transactions to ensure compliance with laid down procedures.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day administration of the audit division.
  • Developing audit techniques and procedures for finance and comprehensive audit.
  • Drawing up audit programmes and audit findings report for discussion with the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Carrying out a review of accounting financial and budgetary systems.
  • Management of risk audits.
  • Carrying out audit to ensure compliance with statutory obligations.
Person Profile
  • Relevant experience of at leas five (5) years in a reputable organization in a senior position.
  • A Degree in any of the following: Bachelor of commerce (Accounting), Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Management Course lasting not less than three (3) weeks shall be an added advantage.
  • Computer skills.
  • Analytical and report writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability and a high degree of competence in conducting and supervising both financial and management audits.
Human Resource Officer

Person Profile

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management from a recognized university.
  • A master's degree in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage.

Procurement Officer

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Commerce (Supplies Management Option) or its equivalent qualification.
  • A Diploma in purchasing and supplies.

  • A management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks shall be an added advantage.

Information Communication Technology Officer
