Chief Executive Officer Executive Appointment: Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA)

Our client, Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) is the umbrella body for over 200 private sector associations in the country.

It seeks to create a unified and pro-active partner with government and other stakeholders, in building a prosperous and sustainable economy for the socio-economic development of all Kenyans.

KEPSA is looking for a competent and suitably qualified personality to take up the challenge of leading and working with a multi-disciplinary team.

The Chief Executive Officer

Under the guidance of the KEPSA Board, the Chief Executive Officer will;
  • Develop strategies and programs to integrate and include private sector into public policy formulation, implementation and monitoring;
  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies that address cross-cutting concerns of the private sector;
  • Liaise and network with government, development partners and private sector partners at high level;
  • Apply international best practices in developing private sector associations, especially those with broad mandate at grass roots and apex levels;
  • Mobilize knowledge from public and private policy research institutions in support of issues based advocacy;
  • Develop capacity support programs for private sector associations, transfer knowledge to counterparts in these associations and mobilize resources to implement planned programs;
  • Cultivate national, regional and global strategic networks and alliances in support of an outward looking growth oriented private sector;
  • Monitor operational and financial results against plans and budgets;
  • Maintain close contact with the Chairman and the Executive Board on the goals and performance of the organization;
  • Oversee the implementation of policies and programs, and harmonise operating procedures to ensure maintenance of high levels of performance and accountability
  • Ensure technical issues being considered for the organization's actions receive detailed professional analysis on whose results the Board can base decisions;
  • Implement the decisions made by the Governing Council and Executive Board
The ideal candidate must be serving/must have served at a senior management position in the private sector for a minimum period of five years and be in possession of the following qualifications:-
  • Post graduate degree in Economics, Business Administration or related discipline from recognized Institution of higher learning.
  • Proven strong management, leadership, negotiation and team building skills
  • Ability to deliver assignments on a wide range of issues for private and public sector and development partners
  • Proven experience in resource mobilization, strategic planning and development of policy formulation frameworks.
  • Proven communication and advocacy skills
  • Practical knowledge and experience in private sector development strategies
  • Experience in dealing with public sector and development partners will be an added advantage.
