Executive Chef Job Vacancy: Muthaiga Country Club

Approaching its centenary year, Muthaiga Country Club is Africa's premier club.

It has a significant and exacting memberstiip and a large professional workforce.

The Club is determined to maintain its traditional qualities and values while meeting contemporary needs and continuing to develop.

The Club now seeks an outstanding talent to fill the senior position of Executive Chef.

The Role:
  • Achieve excellent quality of food in the Kitchen, pleasing methods of food presentation and outstanding customer service.
  • Be highly reactive to Members' requirements and wishes and to constantly strive for quality improvement and 'customer' satisfaction.
  • Be responsible for the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the Kitchen operation in accordance with the HACCP.
  • Instil a creative and proactive culture amongst the Kitchen staff in order to ensure quality and 'customer' and professional satisfaction.
  • Achieve and maintain the budgeted food costs.
  • Coordinate and direct Kitchen sales and profitability and achieve budget targets for all Club outlets.
  • With the Executive Team, contribute to Club plans and strategies.
  • When required, brief clearly and concisely the Secretary and the Board of Directors.
The Candidate:
  • A dynamic Executive Chef having completed at least three years in a comparable role
  • International experience will be a considerable asset
  • Passionate & Creative
  • Demonstrable written and oral communications skills
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office and Management Systems
  • An enabling style of management and good training skills
