Sales & Operations Manager Job Vacancy

We are a leading shipping line based in Mombasa Kenya and we are seeking to recruit a highly qualified individual to join our team in the following capacity.

Sales & Operations Manager

Key Roles

1. Soliciting and marketing cargo for imports and exports and tramp vessels business.
2. Communicating with, guiding and advising agents on tariff, bookings and on-carriage.
3. Handling freight rate quotations for both import and export.
4. Maintaining customer data bank and continuously evaluate their performance and needs
5. Continuously monitoring and evaluating Agents performance against their targets.
6. Signing on bill of lading and delivery orders.
7. Coordinating with container section on delivery of empty boxes to ensure there are enough containers for cargo booking.
8. Assisting management Accountant in collecting long-standing debts.
9. Checking all manifests for correctness before forwarding to imports and accounts sections.
10. Supervising commercial and Sales department
11. Undertaking staff appraisal in Commercial and Sales department and advise on training needs
12. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications & Requirement

1. A degree or higher diploma in sales and Marketing
2. At least 3 years experience in direct marketing preferably in maritime industry.
3. Must be result oriented, attentive to details and with ability to multitask.
4. Must be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Knowledge of import & export business is a requirement
6. Management experience will be an added advantage
