Job Purpose:
The purpose of this appointment is to assist in carrying out large-scale microarray work aimed at exploring transcriptional variation among malaria parasites.
Reporting Lines:
The post holder will report to the Principal Investigator (Dr. M. Mackinnon) and will be under the day-to-day supervision of a Post-doctoral Research Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
The post holder will perform high-throughput RNA and DNA extractions, microarray hybridisations, ELISA assays, genotyping of parasite material, parasite cell culture, and PCR assays.

- A BSc. in biological sciences is essential.
- The person will also require very good organisational skills in order to manage the large-scale nature of this work.
- They will be good at working in a team, have good communication skills, be able to multi-task, and the motivation to see projects to completion.
- Good computer skills are highly desirable.
