Job Title: Revenue / Cost Assurance Analyst

Department: Finance

Section: Revenue Assurance

Responsible to: Head of revenue Assurance

Main Purpose of the Job
  • To carry out systematic analysis on revenue and cost impacting processes to ensure that all revenue is recognized, collected and reported.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the integrity of TKL/Orange revenue and costs accuracy through the revenue chains by systematic controls and reconciliations.
  • Manage revenue and cost impacting issues from identification to quantification and resolution..
  • Systematically Analyze processes and trends to identify weakness and risk and to make recommendations for actions to prevent lose.
  • Through recommendations/reviews implement and whenever possible automate new controls, for amending existing controls which are used to support and improve revenue integrity.
Tasks
  • Issue detection and description
  • To collect Fraud and RA Issues from across all channels
  • Check reconciliation and controls results for discrepancies
  • Check Fraud and Revenue assurance tools reports for anomalies
  • Describe and qualify issues in the Fraud and Revenue assurance Issues and Action Plan list
  • Estimate impact, amount lost or at risks and prioritize issues
  • Root cause analysis and Action Plans
  • Identify contributors and collect information to ensure full understanding of the issue
  • Identify main causes (error in process, contract, work method, IS functionalities or treatments,…) and. actors to be involved in the Action Plan
  • Define, describe and propose revenue recovery and loss prevention action plan
  • Define indicators to follow up progress of implementation Action Plan
  • Propose Action Plan owner
  • Support and follow up Action Plan
  • Support Action Plan owners
  • Report weekly on revenue collected, losses avoided in the F&RA Issues and Action Plan list
  • Communicate and report on Fraud and RA activity
  • Take part in Interdisciplinary F & RA Forum, required change / project meeting
  • Advise key business areas of Revenue Assurance issues
  • Report monthly on losses, revenue collected and avoided losses in the F&RA Report
Communication Demands

Internally:

The internal relationships will be with all departments involved directly or indirectly in end to end revenue chains of which:
  • Project Teams / Stakeholders
  • Other areas of Finance,
  • Customer Care, Marketing
  • IT & Networks Support and Design
  • Wholesales
  • Compliance for financial risk and Fraud/corruption risks
  • Other peers
  • Occasionally with TKL top management
Externally
  • Group Fraud and Revenue Assurance team
  • Occasionally with other affiliates or Group entities’ F&RA Managers
Skills

Problem Solving:
  • Perform in depth analysis of data to identify, estimate, propose revenue recovery and loss prevention action plans for revenue impacting issues.
  • Identify reoccurring issues and RA report trends. Design and recommend controls to prevent losses.
Risk Assessment.
  • Calculate the risk and impact of potential issues.
  • Engage with sponsors and senior managers to articulate risks to revenue integrity.
Decision Making:
  • Recommend and approve Test Strategy as part of the management of Fraud and RA tools).
  • Analyze the effects and assess risks for change induced by new projects, offers, tools on TKL revenue in terms of processes and systems.
  • Propose and implement action plans
  • Make recommendations to Revenue Assurance Manager.
  • Provide information and recommendations to all involved departments to aid decision making.
  • Identify, priorities and manage workloads and obstacle escalation to meet deliverables within agreed timescales.
Strategic Influence:
  • Assist the RA Manager to develop and implement a long term revenue integrity strategy supported by annual operating plans.
Security dimension:
  • The RA analyst deals with sensitive and therefore confidential data.
Knowledge and Experience

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field
  • Certificates in Finance/Accounting will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in computer
Experience:
  • Experience in the telecoms industry
  • Good level of understanding in IT systems
  • At least one field operational experience in one of the following domain:
o Network
o IT
o Revenue / cost assurance
o Fraud / Audit / Controls
o Process / project management
o Customer management

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel)
  • Organized, enthusiastic and self driven.

Desirable: (Good to have but can be acquired on the job)
  • Knowledge of the TKL network and rating/billing systems
  • Knowledge in Telcom regulatory environment
  • A good working knowledge of Business Objectives
  • A good working knowledge of SQL and RDBMS
  • Knowledge in Revenue / Cost Assurance and its techniques
  • Capacity to analyze processes and work method
  • Basic risk management skills
  • Ability to transfer skills
  • A good working knowledge in office automation tools: Word, Excel, BO, Visio.
