Head/Network Planning and Management Job Vacancy: Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK)

The African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) is a leading Inter-Governmental Centre of Excellence for the provision of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training and consultancy in English-speaking Africa.

The Institute, which is based in Nairobi, wishes to fill the following position:

Head/Network Planning and Management

Reporting to the Director (CEO), the selected candidate will be responsible for managing the Network Planning and Management Strategic Business Unit.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Undertake and co-ordinate the design, development and delivery of training in ICT Network Planning and Management.
  • Participate in conducting training needs assessments in Member States and other clients in English-speaking countries as and when necessary.
  • Participate in consultancy/ research assignments offered to the Institute.
  • Source for external expertise to undertake specialized training or consultancy services on behalf of AFRALTI.
  • Source for training and consultancy business related to ICT on behalf of AFRALTI.
  • Specify appropriate training equipment and training aids to meet defined training objectives.
  • Market the Access Network courses and consultancy capability of the Institute in collaboration with the Director's office, Marketing Co-ordinating Unit.
  • Prepare professional and informative articles to be posted on the Institute's website, or published in the public media or professional journals.
  • Perform any other duties as directed by Management
Qualification and Experience

Applicants must be holders of a Master's degree in Telecommunications/Electronic Engineering or related field from a recognized University, with at least five years of field practical experience in tele-traffic engineering and network management and planning.

In addition, applicants must possess at least four years of teaching experience as a Senior Lecturer in Network Planning and Management, excellent communication skills, strong leadership qualities and the ability to work in a team.

Proficiency in IT Office Application skills is a necessity.

The engagement will be on a three-year renewable contract, subject to performance.
