1. Background:
The African Civil Society Network on Water and Sanitation (ANEW) is an autonomous Africa-wide platform which aims to ensure that the diverse voices of African civil society organisations are represented and heard in the development and implementation of policies and plans on water and sanitation.
ANEW promotes dialogue, learning and cooperation on water and sanitation issues in Africa and provides a platform for sharing and coordinating voices of its members.
ANEW activities are supported by European Commission UK Government's Governance and Transparency Fund (GIF) through WaterAid and Freshwater Action Network.
ANEW is seeking the services of an experienced, self motivated and skilled Programmes Manager. This is a senior position within ANEW and the position holder will report directly to the Executive Secretary. S/he will be responsible for coordinating and managing the work of ANEW under its principal funding contracts.

Specific responsibilities:
- Support ANEW Partners and Regional Coordinators in planning and implementation of activities to ensure contract outcomes are achieved
- Coordinate learning, planning, monitoring and evaluation of activities in collaboration with key partners.
- Monitoring and documenting impact arising from the implementation of programs
- Collate activity and financial reports from implementing partners and prepare on a timely basis consolidated activity and financial reports
- Development of fundraising plans and activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in development studies, law, public administration, sociology, communications, or other relevant fields.
- At least FIVE years experience working in the international development sector with CSOs preferably in the areas of monitoring and evaluation, networking, policy and advocacy and programs management.
- Experience in coordinating and managing projects implemented by multiple independent agencies in different countries.
- Demonstrated achievements in desk and field research, combined with credible reporting, documentation and communication skills.
- Experience in organising training, conducting meetings and giving feedback.
- Demonstrated strong social and networking skills.
- Computer skills, including internet use, power point presentations and excel
- Knowledge of French is an added advantage
