The Federation’s Eastern Africa Zone Office located in Nairobi Kenya and supporting fourteen National Societies and Participating National Societies in the region has the following employment opportunity.

Finance and Administrative Assistant

The Finance and Administration Officer will provide technical financial and administrative support to the Norwegian Red Cross (Norcross) programmes managed by the regional representation in Nairobi, assist the Finance Manager in processing all financial accounting information including maintaining the Norcross (Aggresso) financial accounting system at the regional office in Nairobi and assist the Programme Officer in handling general office administration duties.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist the finance manager in the processing of all financial accounting information which will
include payments, data processing and financial reporting.
• Raise payment vouchers for all invoices approved for payment; code the payments as appropriate
using agresso code sheet. Ensure allocations to the various activities (projects) are done correctly.
Pass document to Program Officer for payment.
• Verify and code all petty cash payments.
• Post cash books and cast total, prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
• Key-in payments and receipts in Agresso system.
• Verify all postings against actual voucher details and advise Finance Manager of necessary
changes. Agree balances for each account to bank and cash book balances.
• Prepare annual reports for withholding tax returns, where relevant and as per required deadlines.
• Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of required audit working papers.
• Ensure all payments are acknowledged and officialised.
• Assist the Programme Officer in handling general office administration duties which will include
initiating and maintaining accurate filling of program, finance and other relevant documents.
• Assist the programme officer in any logistics related activities, particularly in managing procurement and follow-up of orders.

Target Profile and skills: A diploma or higher in Commerce, Business Administration or any relevant field; professional qualifications such as CPA 2, ACCA and 3 years or more experience in finance, payments, records, accounting and administration.
